Searching the past, trying to add details to thousands of photos at I.F. museum

Starting today and every Friday, Moose News and My Cochrane Now Dot Com are going to help the Iroquois Falls Pioneer Museum find several needles in several haystacks.

It has thousands of photographs without any description of who, when or exactly where.  So every week, museum volunteer Danny McIntyre will provide what information he does have about a photo, hoping you can help.  The first in our series is of about 30 people at a formal celebration of some kind.

“It appears it may have been an event at the original Masonic Lodge, which was on the corner of Buckingham (Ave.) and Hillcrest (Rd.),” McIntyre says, “very late 40s or not too long into the 50s.”

McIntyre’s hoping you can confirm what the event was, and the location.

“Because it also closely resembles the old Riverside Pav in Timmins,” he adds. “However, most of the people in it are Iroquois Falls. So barring a bus trip, it probably took place in Iroquois Falls.”

Take a close look at the photo and contact the Iroquois Falls Pioneer Museum’s Facebook page if you can help.
