Provincial police in these parts plan zero-tolerance enforcement of the provincial stay-at-home order this Victoria Day weekend.
Const. Michelle Simard says it’s in support of efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19.
“All police, special constables, First Nations constables have the authority to shut down any gatherings that do no comply with capacity requirements,” she tells us.
The location of those gatherings doesn’t matter, whether it be in the bush, your backyard or house.
“The OPP will continue to support the efforts of our bylaw officers and in circumstances where a police officer is needed, we will respond to that,” Simard adds.
