The provincial solicitor-general’s ministry confirms that “a number of” COVID-19-positive inmates from the Monteith Correctional Centre have been temporarily transferred.
A ministry spokesman says the move reduces the risk of infection at Monteith, while giving the transferees better care. The institution they’ve gone to has a dedicated health care unit with isolation units. The spokesman says it also has appropriate resources to effectively manage and support the inmates.
