Cochrane history: The beginnings of Brower

For this week’s look back at Cochrane history, public library archivist Ardis Proulx-Chedore takes us on a quick drive southeast of town via Highway 652… and the early days of Brower.

“In 1918, T.B. Skidmore established a general store and a post office in Brower,” she says.  “A new school was built in 1918.  However, the Brower-Dunning School only opened officially on April 21, 1919.”
