So what is The Hub in I.F. all about?

The Hub in Iroquois Falls organized a family carnival this week, complete with the ever-popular bouncy castles this week.

It’s a safe bet that few people in the Falls know what the Hub is all about.

Owner Josh Clarke says it’s a supervised indoor space on Cedar Avenue for kids to hang out at… keeping them from getting involved in harmful activities.

“We’ve got a variety of different face-to-face interaction type activities with pool and foosball and air hockey, he explains.  “We’ve got a little room to hang out and play board games and we’ve got a room in back if they want to keep it a little quieter, if they want to work on homework.”

He got the idea from his teaching job at the high school and his church, Iroquois Falls Bible Chapel.

“Between the two, it’s kind of the driving force, right? Seeing kind of some of the issues you hear about with some of the families and what not and having a personal relationship with God and having faith in Him and knowing how much He cares for these people kind of drove me to open up something to help best I could.”

Clarke says he gets volunteers to help out from his own church, and several of the others in town.
