Youth Charged with Robbery

Three teens are facing charges for trying to steal cigarettes.

The Timmins Police Service says yesterday evening officers were called to a Schumacher variety store after three young men used an edged weapon and demanded smokes from the clerk. The three suspects left with cigarettes and various other items and the store clerk was not harmed.

TPS says by this morning a 13, 15 and 16-year-old boy was arrested. The three are facing a total of 14 charges including:

The 13-year-old is facing:

– Robbery with a Weapon
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
– Carrying a Concealed Weapon
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Mischief
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking

The 16-year-old is charged with:

– Robbery with a Weapon

– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
– Disguise with Intent
– Two counts of Fail to Comply with Sentence

The 15-year-old is facing:

– Robbery with a Weapon
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking

Police say the boys are in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
