The Ottawa Redblacks are Grey Cup champions. The Redblacks defeated the Calgary Stampeders 39-33 in overtime thanks to an 18-yard touchdown pass from Grey Cup MVP Henry Burris. This is the Redblack’s first Grey Cup win in franchise history.

Around the NFL, the Cleveland Browns recorded their 12th straight loss yesterday to remain winless on the season, falling to the New York Giants 27-13. Results throughout the rest of the league saw New Orleans beat Los Angeles 49-21, Tampa Bay beat Seattle 14-5, and Kansas City kicked an overtime winning field goal to defeat Denver 30-27.

There were eight games on the NBA schedule yesterday. The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled out a four point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, winning 112-108. Other results included Dallas defeating New Orleans, Houston beating Portland, and the LA Lakers coming out winners over Atlanta.

Canadian teams had mixed results in the NHL yesterday. Winnipeg shutout Nashville 3-0, Edmonton fell to Arizona 2-1, Calgary got beat 5-3 by Philadelphia, and the Ottawa Senators locked down the New York Rangers’ high-powered offence to win 2-0.

The Seattle Sounders are headed to the MLS Cup Final after a 3-1 aggregate win over Colorado. Seattle now waits to play either Toronto or Montreal.
