It’s Fall Fair time, Cochrane

It seems like there’s always been a Cochrane Fall Fair. That’s because it’s been an annual event since 1913.

This year’s fair is this Friday night and Saturday.

Cochrane Agricultural Society communications director Leslie Mann says it runs from 6:00 until 9:00pm Friday and 10:00am ‘til 5:00pm Saturday at the fairgrounds.

“Exhibits are inside the curling rink and we have another building that’ll be for animals, a petting zoo,” says Mann. “It’s more suitable for those types of exhibits.”

Admission is $5.00. Kids under the age of two get in free.

The weekly farmers market is still on Saturday morning but just outside the grounds, so there’s no admission fee.

Mann says something new is demonstrations by Stewart’s Chainsaw Carving.

“Brianna Stewart has started up a new – I guess it’s her hobby – that she’s developed some skill with a chainsaw and she’s going to be there on Saturday.”

One of her carvings will be raffled off.

Full details on the fall fair are on the agricultural society’s website and Facebook page.
