Nonna’s meatball recipe could win you some money

That meatball recipe that’s been in your family for generations could win you a prize this weekend, at the Cochrane Fall Fair.

Agricultural Society director Heather Brouwer says the meatball contest is “kind of new”.

“Every year, the Cochrane Cattlemen’s Association sponsors some kind of meat competition,” she notes.  “In the past, it’s been a chili contest.  So meatballs is new this year, but it’s still through the Cochrane Cattlemen’s Association.”

The only requirement is that you belong to the Agricultural Society.

“Anyone who is a member can enter,” Brouwer says.  But anyone can be a member. It’s a $12 membership fee and that covers you for the whole year, as many entries as you’d like.”

So, that membership also lets you enter any other fall fair contest.

The fair runs tomorrow (Friday) 6:00-9:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
