Anyone living in Iroquois Falls – especially the old townsite area – should still be aware of black bears roaming around at night.
Early this month, the MNRF trapped and relocated two yearling cubs. The mother and a third yearling are still being spotted.
Outreach specialist Karen Passmore says the ministry is hoping that a trap in the area of Hillcrest Avenue does the trick, so they can ship the animals into thick bush somewhere farther from people neighbourhoods.
