Agnico Eagle buys into Canada Nickel

Agnico Eagle has bought 19.6 per cent of Canada Nickel, the company that is looking at developing the Crawford Mine project near Timmins.

Officials say the company has spent approximately two years evaluating the critical minerals section and looking at areas where it has a competitive advantage. Agnico Eagle’s investment in Canada Nickel is an early stage interest into this growing sector.

Canada Nickel owns the Crawford nickel sulphide Mine project which located on Highway 655 near some of the Agnico Eagle operations in the region.

This past November Canada Nickel filed a feasibility study and it’s hoped construction could begin in the coming years. The project consists of nickel and sulphide which will help in the Electric Car manufacturing business.
