The Cochrane Public Library has a weekly program to help people with their tech issues whether phone or app related. Program service coordinator Heather Brouwer says there are so many problems that can arise with simple things of setting up an email, and there is nowhere to go in a small community.
“Where you can come in and set up an appointment for a half an hour or an hour,” she said. “You sit down one-on-one with one of our staff members and we will try to figure it out with you whether it’s setting up a new device or figure out why your email is doing a silly thing or how you can figure out a new app.”
Brouwer says the program has been around for a while and growing.
“We do get quite a few people coming in, sometimes people will come in just like a one off basis,” she said. “They’ve got a glitch and someone has mentioned to them that they can come and we can help them with that. And we do have a few people who have been coming regularly almost every week.”
Tech Help goes this Thursday and next Thursday from 10 am to Noon. For more information contact the library.
