(NHL) The Sharks Joe Thornton notched his 1,000th NHL point as San Jose beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 last night. In other action Ottawa doubled Boston 4-2, the Rangers shut out Tampa bay 1-0 in overtime and Dallas skated to a 4-2 win over Washington.
(NBA) The Miami Heat beat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in three nights this time dropping the Cavs 106-98. Cleveland also lost newly acquired Andrew Bogut who broke his left leg less than one minute into his debut . In other action The Knicks beat Orlando 113-105 and the LA Clippers thumped Boston 116-102.
(Curling) Manitoba’s Mike McEwen improved his record to a perfect 4-0 with a win over Alberta’s Brendan Bottcher last night at the Tim Hortons Brier. Brad Jacobs of Northern Ontario is second at 4-1 after beating Ontario’s Glenn Howard who now sits at 1-3.
(Tennis) Milos Raonic has pulled out of this week’s BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California. Raonic has been suffering from a hamstring injury. Last Sunday, the 26-year-old Canadian pulled out of the Delray Beach Open final against Jack Sock.
