Earth Day is already being observed at the Cochrane Public Library

Earth Day is next Monday, April 22nd around the world. At the Cochrane Public Library, it’s already being observed, and will be until the end of the month.

Acting CEO Jessica Horne says the Jane Goodall Reasons for Hope exhibit is set up in the gallery.  The library is focusing on Goodall’s local heroes pillar… how the average person can combat climate change and environmental issues.

“So we have a scrap book where we’re asking anyone from the community to come in and add their own personal story or kind of their plan for how they want to live maybe a bit more sustainably or environmentally friendly.”

Art supplies are provided for you to participate. And don’t think any small thing you do is insignificant – like planting one sunflower.

“The birds can profit from that,” says Horne. “You can profit from that. Squirrels are going to come and steal your seeds and then they’re going to plant them somewhere else and someone else is going to have sunflowers. We’re all connected, right?”
