FIRST NATIONS KEPT IN THE DARK, SAYS BISSON

According to Gilles Bisson, the government is looking at creating a couple of new provincial ridings to serve first nations communities in Northern Ontario, but has been keeping treaty leaders out of the loop. The Liberals are looking to split up two existing northern ridings so First Nations communities along the James Bay coast can represent their own communities. Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson supports this move, but says the government is doing so without the proper consultation.  Bisson says this is supposed to be part of the government’s reconciliation process, but instead it seems like a dictatorial move.
