The Peninsula Project in Cochrane could be headed in a different direction than originally planned. Cochrane’s Mayor Peter Politis says they had a deadline set by the NOHFC for November 10th to either commit to the project or release the one and a half million dollars worth of funding that had already been secured. Politis says it’s important that this funding stays in the community.  The mayor went on to say while there has been differences at council surrounding the overall plans of the peninsula project, he believes the updated proposal that was submitted will keep the door open for new ideas and maybe several smaller buildings instead of one large multi use facility.
