The New York Yankees completed the three-game sweep of the Blue Jays last night shutting out Toronto 2-0. With the loss the Jays now trail the Red Sox by one game in the AL East standings.
Karolina Pliskova beat  Ana Konjuh in straight sets to reach the final four at the US Open. Serena Williams also advanced beating Simona Halep. On the men’s side Andy Murray lost his five-set quarterfinal against Kei Nishikori. Nishikori will face Stan Wawrinka, in the semi finals.
