Traveling between hospitals in the northeast for things like specialist consultation and testing is going to get a bit easier, thanks to an initiative by the LHIN. The Local Health Integration Network is addressing the long standing issue of patients having to wait at larger hospitals for an ambulance to take them home. They will be contracting a transportation service provider to get patients to and from their appointments. The new plan is expected to come into effect in the New Year.
