45th year for annual Christmas telethon in Iroquois Falls

The 45th annual telethon for the Bill Harkins-Eugene Ricard Santa Claus Fund in Iroquois Falls takes the stage at the community auditorium on Saturday, November 21st.

It will be livestreamed so you can watch it from anywhere in the world. However, producer Barb Cornthwaite says it’s better in the auditorium

“The sound is better. Everything is better live,” she remarks. “You get the feeling of being in the audience, that community spirit that you get in a live show.”

The show begins at 4:00pm and runs until 9:00pm or a bit later.

There’s also a Christmas market running down the hall, and Cornthwaite is looking for a photographer to take pics of a special visitor with his fans.

Cornthwaite says some entertainers from years past will be on stage along with new ones who want to be involved. She notes that Iroquois Falls has a great talent base.

“There are a lot of garage bands and people that get together still and play music around the campfire. So that’s where I think some of this comes from.”

More on who’s entertaining and other telethon information is in the audio of our interview posted below and on the Iroquois Falls Telethon Facebook page.
