It wouldn’t be Christmas in Cochrane without the annual Bill Mitchell Lions Club Christmas Telethon.
Lions president and telethon chair Roxanne Ross says it’s on Sunday, December 6th between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
Organizers are still looking for entertainers.
“So a lot of the old stars out there, young and old,” she remarks, ” and you can contact Lion Cindy and her phone number is 705-272-8226.”
You can watch it live downstairs at the Cochrane Public Library, on Eastlink Channel 10 or on Facebook Live.
Ross says the money raised goes to a very Christmas-related cause.
“It goes to the Cochrane Food Bank to support families at Christmas, the less fortunate ones. And we’re kind of called The Joy of Christmas to provide meals for families.”
The Bill Mitchell part of the telethon name remembers a co-founder of the Cochrane Lions Club in the 1960s.
