Get help in your education or job search at Northern College event

Job seekers and students are welcome to a career open house Wednesday afternoon at Northern College’s training and career advancement centre at 130 Spruce St. S in Timmins.

Employment services manager Janelle Martin says you can check out the services and participate in activities for prizes that include a $250 Northern College entrance award.

“We’re looking for people to drop in, meet our staff who can help them with their job search, resumé writing and workplace readiness training,” she outlines. “If anyone is looking to complete their high school equivalency or missing prerequisites to enrol in post-secondary programs, academic upgrading is also here.”

Martin says it’s free. Everything is paid for by Employment Ontario.

“So we encourage people to just drop in and see what’s available. And we’re able to assist and point them in the right direction.”

A photo booth will provide headshots to use on LinkedIn or in your professional portfolio.

The open house runs from 1:00pm until 3:30pm.
