Iroquois Falls Winter Carnival heats up with two bands performing Saturday night

The Iroquois Falls Winter Carnival is headed into its second and final weekend, and the time to cut loose and dance up a storm comes for adults on Saturday night.

Municipal events committee member Jamy Bernier says two bands with local roots will be performing at the Community Centre.

First up with an acoustic set is Simon Rivard, along with members of his family that include his wife, Lisanne Bélanger, who is originally from the Falls.

Up next is Boolzeye, currently the hottest band form the Ville-Marie-Notre Dame area.

“And they do play primarily an English set,” Bernier notes. “The lead singer and keyboard player is a gentleman by the name of Preston Phillips, who was born and raised in Iroquois Falls.”

Bernier saw the band perform last summer.

“They did everything from some CCR, Luke Bryan, Journey, even a little bit of Eminem in there to make things spicy. So they basically cover all kinds of genres and eras of music.”

Twenty-dollar advance tickets are available at Fuddy Duddy’s and The New Myna.  There is no guarantee of any tickets at the door.
