Northeastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services have launched its annual collection of back to school supplies. Volunteer Coordinator Karen Poitras says lunch boxes, pencil cases and binders are in need.  She adds that over 100 families were helped from Temiskaming Shores to Hearst last year.
“Yes I think the need is higher this year,” she said. “We are getting requests for the school bags. People already wanting to come pick them up.”
Items and cash donations can be dropped off at NEOFACS offices in the region until this Monday. Some businesses are also accepting donations. A full list is below
