Coats for Kids forced to expand

The response to Zoreena Liznick-Voyer’s first ever Coats for Kids project in Iroquois Falls has been so great, it’s expanded.

She says more than 50 coats have been donated. Some are even for adults, so she’s going with that.

“I’ve got new socks, gently used socks, hats, mitts, I even have sweaters and some jeans. I’m not going to say no to that,” she says, adding “kids can’t go anywhere unattended in most cases, so we want to keep the adults warm, too.”

You can browse and take what you need on Saturday from 12:30-4:00pm at the Pool Complex Community Hall.  It’s right on time for the Santa Claus Parade, eight days later.

Volunteers are welcome to show up and pitch in with the event.  It’s good for high school volunteer hours, too.
