Two Val Rita sisters face criminal harassment charges

Two sisters who were both Confederation of Regions Party candidates in June’s provincial election are facing criminal harassment charges by Ontario Provincial Police.

The investigation stems from ongoing social-media harassment incidents between July and September of this year.

Forty-nine-year-old Nadia Sadiq who ran for the Timmins riding is facing three charges of defamation known to be false, two charges of criminal harassment and one charge of mischief.

Fifty-one year old Fauzia Sadiq, who ran in the riding of Mushkegowuk-James Bay, is facing two charges of mischief and one of defamation known to be false.

Both women live in Val Rita.
