Don’t expect Campbell River’s Walmart to open anytime soon.
It’s been closed since a fire was intentionally set in the paper aisle on Oct. 1st.
Walmart manager, corporate affairs, Felicia Fefer says they’re doing everything they can to re-open the store, and working closely with local regulatory officials.
“We need to ensure the store is safe and up to the standards our Campbell River customers expect and deserve,” Fefer said.

“There is no specific target re-opening date at this point.”
The fire was believed to be deliberately set to hide a very significant theft from the store.
