Cochrane Public Library ready for October to celebrate Canadian Library Month

The Cochrane Public Library is jumping in with both feet to celebrate Canadian Library Month in October.

Assistant to the CEO Ardis Proulx-Chedore says it recognizes the library’s literacy-based programming and other services.

And from October 5th to 9th, it incorporates First Nations Library Week.

“Then on the 6th,, which is a Tuesday, we have bannock making with the Ininew Friendship Centre,” she outlines. “It’s a virtual program. That’s going to be very enjoyable.”

You can make your first bannock while you watch the presentation. For other events, go to the library’s website or Facebook page.

Proulx-Chedore says library staff celebrates Library Month for a myriad of reasons.

“We are here for the community for whatever purpose that they would like to use us for, be it entertainment or education and we have a lot of virtual programming going on as well as some contests.”

At the end of the month, Proulx-Chedore says there will be a drive-by Halloween activity.  Details to follow.
