Manor Fairies spread cheer to residents of South Centennial Manor

Wine fairies and kids’ fairies have been doing their work with gift baskets in Iroquois Falls. Now, Suzanne McKinnon and her daughter, Trina Gelinas are doing the same kind of thing for residents of South Centennial Manor.

“Nothing’s being done for the seniors,” McKinnon says, “so we said we should do something for the seniors and that’s what we came up with.”

The 59 Manor residents are in isolation and not allowed visitors since the pandemic began.

McKinnon says all the cash and gift cards they raise will be given to Manor staff to eventually provide a basket to each of the residents.

“They will be buying their favourite treats, what they’re allowed to eat, and they’ll fill their baskets with a personal note which I will be sending through text, a personal note in every basket for them.”

While the aim is to brighten each of the seniors’ days while they’re isolated from their families,McKinnon says it’s also a good way to support Iroquois Falls businesses.
