The encouraging news comes from the town’s protective services department that says renovation and construction expenditures were up last year totalling more than $7.3 million up from the previous year. Property values have increased on average from $160,000 to $183,000 in town. Seasonal rural homes are now selling for an average of $129,000. Mayor Peter Politis sees the numbers as a positive, while others still aren’t sure.
