Signs of spring: robins, potholes and the CAA Worst Roads competition

Everyone has their own idea of what road they use frequently is in the worst shape.  That’s what the Canadian Automobile Association is banking on, as it launches the 16th annual Worst Roads in Ontario survey.

It’s always this time of year, so a natural question to CAA communications manager Mandy Chepeka is whether it’s a coincidence that the voting takes place during pothole season.

“That’s no coincidence (laughs).  It’s the time when we’re at the end of the freeze-thaw cycles.  This winter there’s been many that have resulted in these potholes that are just now being unveiled and it’s on everyone’s mind right now as they experience it every day,” she responds.

Chepeka expects around 2,000 people to vote.

“Voting is open until April 26th and you can vote simply by going to caaworstroads.com,” she explains.  If you’ve got more than one road that you would like to nominate, feel free to do so.”

You can also vote as often as you like, according to Chepeka. “Well, you can, but it will be logged out as spam if you do it in the same day.  You can go back afterwards and vote for that road again, however.”
