ALL KATHY WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS IS LOTS OF SNOW

If you’re reading this, Santa, Kathy Hutchinson David has something special she hopes you bring her.

“Lots of snow,” she laughs emphatically.

Hutchinson David is the president of the Cochrane Cross-Country Ski Club and so far this season, the lack of snow followed by rain has made trail conditions less than ideal.

She hopes that improves by Sunday, December 30th, when there’s a gathering planned for the chalet.

“There’ll be hot cider, hot chocolate, skiing, snowshoeing,” she says. “ Always looking for new members.  Last year, it was 270 so you know, it’s always nice to get more.”

If Santa doesn’t bring you cross-country equipment, fear not.  The Cochrane Public Library lends out skis and snowshoes.

And for when conditions do improve, Hutchinson David has a warning.

“It’s private land, so for insurance purposes and all that, nobody is allowed on the trails unless they have a day pass and sign in, or a membership.”
