Ontario Celebrates Remembrance Week

Ontario is launching a Remembrance Week campaign to honour those have, are and will fight for peace.

The province says this provides an opportunity for Ontarians to unite and pay tribute to members of the Canadian Armed Forces for their courage and sacrifice in serving Canada, at home and abroad.  Temiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof says this is an important initiative for all to celebrate. “It’s very fitting because the people who served and the people who serve and gave their lives, we have now more time to actually travel throughout the riding and share their stories.”

Vanthof he will be travelling throughout the riding this week, participating in several Remembrance Ceremonies. “The focus is still on the 11th hour, on the 11th day, in the 11th month, but this gives us a whole week to build up to that and really pay homage.”

The province says you can participate by organizing a Remembrance Day or a Remembrance Week event and share your gratitude and respect online by using the hashtag #RemembranceDay.
