Some delays at town hall are delaying the removal of Chimo.
The Cochrane Board of Trade says due to the long winter, construction projects in Cochrane are a few weeks behind causing a delay in the removal of Chimo. Board President Jamie Mageau says the bear was supposed to me moved yesterday.
Mageau says this will also give crews time to better preserve the old bear since no one knows what it is made of.
The new Chimo that will be put in the old space was hand-crafted in B.C. Mageau says it is currenlty in storage in town until it can be installed hopefully this summer.
Mageau says town hall will be providing updates as to when Chimo will be removed.
