A candidate has been named for the Northern Ontario Party.
Shawn Poirier says he is excited to run in the Timiskaming-Cochrane riding in the provincial election. Poirier was born in Cochrane and raised in New Liskeard. He says being from the area will help him because he is familiar with the people and the regions issues.
Poirier is running against NDP John Vanthof and PC Margaret Williams. The election takes place on June 7th.
