(NHL) The Toronto Maple Leafs were outworked and outscored 6-3 by the Carolina Hurricanes last night. For Toronto, it was their second loss in three games, and each of their defeats this season has been by the same 6-3 score. In other action the Los Angeles Kings downed the Montreal Canadiens 4-0, Ottawa edged Philadelphia 5-4, Pittsburgh needed overtime for a 2-1 victory over Winnipeg, Edmonton beat Dallas 5-4 and Vancouver skated to a 6-2 win over Washington.
(NFL) The Baltimore Ravens crushed the Miami Dolphins 40-0 in the NFL Thursday nighter. Ravens QB Joe Flacco was struck in the helmet by a Miami linebacker late in the 2ndquarter while sliding at the end of a run, his helmet flew off his head, and he appeared dazed. Flacco was placed in concussion protocol, and by halftime was ruled out of the game.
