The North East Region OPP is warning people to think before heading out onto the ice.
The weather has varied over the past few days which means bodies of water that were strong enough to travel on no longer are. The OPP says ice has become slushy and weak in many areas.
The OPP says if you’re going to be around a body of water you should dress for the weather and wear a personal flotation device or buoyant suit just in case. You should also pack an emergency kit.
