Visiting hours return to hospitals and long-term care in Cochrane, I.F. and Matheson

In one way, at least, hospitals and long-term care facilities in Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Matheson are returning to pre-pandemic days.

MICs Group of Health Services CEO Paul Chatelain says they’re reinstating restricted visiting hours, instead of allowing them 24/7.

“Obviously with COVID, things changed dramatically and after COVID we never implemented the hours being restricted,” he states. “We’ve gone back. We’re going to trial this on a six-month basis beginning October 1st.”

“We consulted with our staff. They had some complaints,” Chatelain continues. “We’d be getting visitors all hours of the night, and I think going back to our original visiting hours is just probably in the best interest in safety for our patients and our staff.”

Visiting hours will be 8:00am to 10:00pm.
