Board of Trade presents Meet the Candidates before municipal election

The Cochrane Board of Trade is staging an event where you can hear directly from each of the candidates for mayor and councillor in next month’s election.

Board director Roxanne Desroches says Meet the Candidates is happening on Monday, September 28th between 6:30 and nine at the Transfiguration Church Hall.

The format is changing a bit from past elections. You’re asked to submit your questions in advance.

“I direct people to take a look at our Facebook page,” says Desroches, “because there’s a QR code there and it will direct people on how they can submit their question ahead of time.”

A committee will select the questions to eliminate duplication and ensure they’re respectful and not incendiary.

“Our role as the Board of Trade is to provide a neutral and non-partisan forum and to give all the candidates an equal opportunity to participate and to allow the community to hear their perspectives,” Desroches states.

Here is the QR to submit questions until September 22nd.
