It’s a big weekend for ringette in Iroquois Falls. Not only is the annual three-on-three tournament going on, the local ringette association is celebrating its 30th anniversary between Friday and Sunday.
President Candis Blakeley says there are all kinds of other activities around the tournament.
“Short games, 20-minute games from players here in Iroquois Falls and Timmins,” she says. “We’re also hosting a vendor market as well as a fundraising lunch and supper over the weekend.”
In addition, there are other fundraisers and a kids’ playroom.
Saturday is the big day to celebrate the anniversary.
“We’re actually doing an alumni game,” says Blakeley.”So we have past players from all different ages playing from 2:30 to 3:00.”
Blakeley is hoping past players, board members and volunteers take in the festivities.
There is no admission charge for any of the events.
