Cochrane getting new municipal CAO

On the first official business day of 2026, the town of Cochrane will have a new chief administrative officer.

In a news release, Mayor Peter Politis says Daniel Gagnon brings a wealth of municipal leadership, having played pivotal roles in a couple major projects in Elliot Lake.

Also on January 5th, a short-term chief transformation officer will begin work.  That person has been hired, but their name not released yet.

Politis says that person will be responsible for transforming municipal operations into “a refreshed, modernized system designed to deliver efficiencies and retooling required to manage the ‘new normal’” from changes the region is undergoing and will continue to undergo.
