More work to get in-kind support from Town Hall for Stardust Festival in Cochrane

It’s going to take a bit more paper work for next week’s Stardust Festival in Cochrane to get in-kind financial support from Town Hall.

The six-day festival will feature university students launching rockets they built, in the bush north of Cochrane.  There are also displays and activities centered around the Tim Horton Events Centre and Commando Pavilion.

Organizer Jason Michaud asked council to waive user fees on the facilities.  Community services director Jason Boyer calculates that to be worth $12,600.

Council told Michaud to come back with a proper application for support, including proof of non-profit status.  If it’s satisfied, it will look at supporting the event and waiving the usual 25-percent maximum up to $200.
