It worked so well last year, Live at the Lakeside at the Cochrane Farmers Market every Friday in expanding for 2019.
Town councillor Shea Henderson says the idea is to bring live music and locally produced food and beverages – along with a wide range of activities – to the weekly market at the Commando Pavilion.
“We started at the end of August last year and went to the end of September and it went off very successfully,” Henderson tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com, “so this year we’re expanding it a bit more. We’re starting it on the Canada Day weekend on the 28th and going every Friday throughout the summer as well.”
“The goal,” he continues, “is to showcase the North, it’s not just Cochrane, so I’ve had people approach me from Hearst and Iroquois Falls already this year to play music. So that door is open. We have a lot of talent up here and we wan to make sure we’re showcasing that, right?”
