(NHL) The Toronto Maple Leafs dropped out of a playoff spot after getting pounded 7-2 by the Florida Panthers last night. In other action Chicago doubled Montreal 4-2, Tampa Bay needed overtime for a 2-1 win over Ottawa and Edmonton skated to a 7-1 win over Dallas.
(NBA) LeBron James notched a triple-double as the Cleveland Cavaliers crushed Detroit 128-96 last night. Elsewhere OKC beat Brooklyn 122-104, Golden State edged Philadelphia 106-104 and the Knicks ran to an 87-81 victory over Indiana.
(MLB) The Blue Jays dropped a 5-4 decision to the Boston Red Sox in Grapefruit League action yesterday. Meanwhile Josh Donaldson and Devon Travis made their spring debuts in a minor-league scrimmage against the Philadelphia Phillies. Donaldson and Travis both took at-bats as designated hitters, but did not run.
(WBC) At the World Baseball Classic yesterday Puerto Rico beat the Dominican Republic 3-1 and Japan got past Cuba 8-5.
