This year’s Report Card on Ontario’s Elementary Schools showed most school boards had a decrease in math scores. For EQAO results in grade six students only one school in Northern Ontario made the top 25. R.L. Beattie in Sudbury was the number one school in the province when it came to these results. Those numbers in comparison to the public and catholic school boards in the Northeast looked very high considering only one in three students in our region are meeting the provincial standards for math.
