Under Bill C-26 thousands of women and families who take time off to raise their children will be penalized when it comes time to retire. The governments expanded pension plan will boost retirement benefits for those who don’t take any time off of work. Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes says originally they thought it was an oversight.  Hughes says these changes will have more of an impact on women and people with disabilities who are the most vulnerable members in society.
