As we’re in the middle of crime prevention week in the province the James Bay Detachments of the OPP would like to remind home owners to take precautionary measures to keep homes safe. Last month property crimes were amongst the highest number of offences in our area and police say it’s important to always lock doors and windows before leaving your house. The OPP says it’s best if you can keep a light on inside to give the impression that someone is home and if you plan on being away for long periods of time to make arrangements to have your lawn cut or snow shoveled.
