Police say if you find a note in your car from the OPP it was checked as a part of the lock it or lose it program. Staff Sergeant Baldassare Nuccio with the James Bay Detachment says it’s an ongoing enforcement measure police use to ensure residents are locking their vehicles. Nuccio says if police find a car that’s unlocked, they will lock it up and leave a note inside reminding you not to forget next time. The Staff Sergeant says a good amount of people in the area don’t lock their vehicles.  Nuccio says it’s best to keep valuables in vehicles left out of sight to lower the risk of theft.
