For Child Abuse Prevention Month, staff at NEOFACS were challenged to come up with a community event. Volunteer Coordinator, Mireille Dubosq says they decided on a Go Purple Walk. She says purple is the colour of the child abuse awareness ribbon and invites anyone who attends the event to wear some. Dubosq she’s there’s a lot of potential abuse in our area.  Dubosq says although there may be many cases, she can’t be sure of the exact numbers. The Go Purple Walk is taking place October 16th in Kapuskasing and on the 19th other communities such as Timmins and Moosonee will be participating in Go Purple Day.
