Two big wins this weekend for the Crunch. A 4-3 OT win Friday vs the Rayside-Balfour Canadians at the Event Centre. Braeden Cross’s second goal of the game at 1:35 of the second OT gave the Crunch the win. Then a 10-5 win Sunday night in French River. The Crunch play at Powassan tonight.

Sadly, the Eskis lost both of their weekend games, falling victim to Kirkland Lake 6-1 Friday, and suffering a close miss against Rayside Balfour 4-3 Saturday.

The Los Angeles Angels shut out the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 yesterday. The Blue Jays fell out of a tie with Baltimore for the top AL wild-card spot and now lead Seattle by one game for the second spot.

Team North America opened the World Cup with a convincing 4-1 win over Finland yesterday. In other action Sweden edged Russia 2-1.
