The Town of Cochrane has decided to go forward with a new garbage pickup schedule during the winter months. Starting October 31st garbage will only be picked up every other week to reduce costs for the town. Municipal Director of Operations and Infrastructure for the Town of Cochrane, Shane Skinner says since this is the first year they’ve tried bi-weekly pickups they will have to wait and see how much it ends up saving.  The bi-weekly schedule applies to both regular waste and recycling.  For residents who are concerned about having too much waste, you can buy additional garbage tags for one dollar each from the town.
